Richard Ssemujju

Associate Technical Director Health and Public Health

Mr. Richard Ssemujju is a seasoned Public Health Specialist and Community Development Professional with over 15 years of experience in community and health systems development, capacity building, and managing livelihood and community health projects. He holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Maternal and Child Health (MCH)/Safe Motherhood, a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences, and diplomas in Project Planning and Management as well as Education. In addition, he has completed numerous specialized training programs, including Governance and Health, Gender and Sexual Reproductive Health, HIV Prevention for Key Populations, Balanced Scorecard for Program Management, Compliance and Grant Management, and Monitoring and Evaluation for Results, among others.

For over 12 years, Richard has worked with esteemed local and international organizations such as Family Health International (FHI 360), THETA Uganda, Marie Stopes International Uganda, Concern Worldwide, and Living Earth Foundation (UK). He has extensive experience in Maternal and Child Health (MCH), Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) programs, and participatory community capacity development methodologies, including the Community Scorecard approach. Richard is also skilled in advocacy for community engagement with central government, civil society organizations (CSOs), and district local governments. Additionally, he has expertise in organizational and institutional development approaches, capacity building, and training for civil society agencies, government institutions, and the private sector.
