My Story at RCG: Experience & Current Role

Mr. Martin Wabwire is a seasoned Development Economist with over 20 years of experience in public sector planning and development management across Sub-Saharan Africa. In the early 1990s, he served as a District Planner in the Government of Uganda, before moving on to work on numerous projects focused on public financial management (PFM) and intergovernmental fiscal relations. Most recently, Martin served as a consultant for the Government of Uganda’s subnational fiscal transfer reform program, supported by the World Bank, where he played a key role in designing and launching the initiative. He continues to work on health financing research projects in Uganda and other aspirational peer countries.

His country experience spans Uganda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Malawi, Rwanda, and The Gambia. Martin’s areas of expertise include public financial management, fiscal decentralization, and subnational economic planning.
