Flavia has over 20 years of national and international Not-for-Profit expertise in Development Management gained by working at community to senior levels with diverse organisations in East and Southern Africa. Flavia’s expertise is specifically gained from Uganda Red Cross Society; Action Aid; Plan International; Habitat for Humanity; St. Lawrence University; Voluntary Action for Development; End Child Prostitution and Trafficking (ECPAT) Uganda Chapter; The Salvation Army International and the United Nations Volunteers in Zambia and Kenya. Flavia is highly competent in engaging with multi-stakeholders including children, youth, women, refugees, volunteers, People with Disabilities and High-Level Profile audiences. She possesses skills in research, assessment, baseline survey and evaluation of development projects and programmes across diverse thematic areas; Volunteer Management and Development; Experiential Learning and Capacity Development.
She has conducted consultancy assignments for (i) Welthungerhilfe (Endline evaluation for WHH’s Grow Together project: ‘Transforming gender relations towards equal participation, economic empowerment, and improved menstrual health for women and girls’ project in Teso and Karamoja sub regions of Uganda; (ii) UNDP Uganda (National situation analysis on volunteerism in Uganda); (iii) Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE) in Uganda as a lead consultant (under Fenrich Consults) in supporting the development of a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector position paper; (iv) UNDP – contracted to train and facilitate a Results-Based Management (RBM) workshop for 60 serving UN Volunteers in Uganda. Flavia possesses a Master of Science in Development Management (The Open University, Milton Keynes, England); Post-graduate Diploma in Development (The Open University Milton Keynes, England); and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Sciences (Makerere University, Kampala). She is proficient in oral and written English; speaks Luganda and Lusoga; understands all the other Bantu dialects and with working knowledge of Swahili and Luo languages.
