Cathbert Tumusiime
Senior Statistician
Cathbert Tumusiime holds a B.Sc. in Statistics (Hons) and an M.Sc. in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (Hons) from Makerere University in Kampala. With over seven years of experience in data management and analysis, Cathbert is proficient in software such as HMIS-DHIS2, STATA, SPSS, Epidata, Python (a continuous learner), Open Data Kit (ODK), and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). He is currently a Consultant Data Analyst/Statistician at Ricerca Centric Global (RCG).
Cathbert has led numerous research teams on national assignments, supporting development partners, ministries, local NGOs, and national CSOs in Uganda on various research programs. He has been involved in delivering health system-related tasks, including costing studies, baseline surveys, mapping, evaluations, and Partner Local Capacity Assessments (PLOCA), along with capacity building at the national and district levels across Uganda’s Northern, Eastern, Central, and Western regions. Notably, he supported the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) in managing the COVID-19 response by developing the City Health Information System (CHIS) for data visualization and hotspot identification. Additionally, Cathbert has contributed to performance reviews, data quality assessments, and analytics processes under the Directorate of Public Health. Fluent in English and proficient in Kiswahili, he is passionate about policy, systems research, and leveraging data to inform decision-making.
